The train station from Ferrara has become a marginal area of the city although it's being widely used. The current building is partly abandoned and the area surrounding it has decayed.
The urbanistic projections of the city claim that the industrial area across the railways must become residential, so this project wants to become a turning point for the city and be the connection space between the actual and the new part of the city. It's organized as to axes, north/south being for the trains and east/west being for the people.
The project wanted to give the area some new life and a big public space to revitalize the area. The chosen program was, appart from serving as a train station, to have a comercial area and a civic center.
